Last chance for what?
Let's start with something else, this weekend!
Saturday:
We knew that meeting the Panthers would be no easy task, but we also knew that playing in our rink is no easy task for any team. I think the guys played fantastic and again it is one of those games we should have won with just a little more luck, or less bad luck. The simple fact that we managed to get 4 penalties in the first period meant that the guys were being pushed to the maximum, but somehow they always manage to surpass me with the pure determination and will to win, nothing will stop them! Right down to the last second they fought, and fought hard. I actually believed we were to score in that last second, but it did not come through. One more fantastic performance from a short team! No wonder the team now has the nickname ' The Bison 10' and a slogan 'The guys who just will not quit' - I love it!
Sunday:
Well they lived up to their name above 'The Bison 10' and did us proud of the slogan this day. No one can any longer wonder why they are called this! How do you come back from 6-4 in the last 1 min and 30 secs? How do you find the energy to stay 6-6 in OT, and what fuels them to get the penalty shot right just when it is needed? Pure determination, nothing else! I will love to watch this game tomorrow evening (Tuesday @ 19.30, Q's Bar) and see what actually happened and how! Don't miss it, to make it more exciting, Chubbs is in the bar fixing drinks (now that will also be interesting!).
Last chance? Well it was about nothing above.. so hang on!
Injuries:
Thornton's hand is not being nice to me! It's not that it won't shake my hand, it is just that it is not healing!! Thornton is getting frustrated from standing on the bench, and every day I call him 'How is the hand?' and every day I get the same reply 'Not better'. We need him back on the ice, and we need him back quickly. Let's see what the doctors say on Thursday, I want him on the ice for this weekend, but only Thornton's wrist knows if that will happen, and that ain't talking to me!
Mikko: How nice was it not to see him back on the ice again, I'm really pleased it was nothing worse, and we didn't lose him for a longer period! I'm sure some would have opted to stay off the ice longer, but Mikko claims he doesn't like the bench and wants ice time!!
Brad: The guy is just fantastic, he has a big black foot from last weekend's puck hit, 'As long as it fits in the skate I can ice', and Friday saw him hit badly by a puck, it shattered his visor and cut his eye! 'Well I can see, so I can ice'!!! And the guy doesn't only ice, he scores!
Last chance? Still nothing, but it will come...
New Players (you think this is the one, don't you.. last chance..)
We have now pretty much gotten used to the thought of having Thornton back on the ice and having Peto to make a 'full' team. We are still hunting hard for some more Brit bodies, but lady luck has lost her smile (or found a better looking guy to smile at..???) so we still have no 'breaking news' on this front. Will we do well with what we have? Hehe, come to a game and tell me the guys are not able to win against anyone in the league and you must have watched the wrong game! It is always the injury problem that worries me, but 2 more players (Thornton and Peto) will add wonders to an already winning team! But as I said, we are still trying to find more.....
Still no last chance? No not yet...
2 short ones:
Tuesday is our first 'Away Game Evening' in Q's Bar. We will show the AWAY game from this weekend on the screens and I hope this will develop in to something to keep all the fans together and also an opportunity for me to meet up with them as well as some players (I plan to have one or 2 players in the bar, that is serving in the bar) during these evenings. Hope you all can make it there tomorrow! 19.30 is start time!
Wednesday: Auction night! Some seriously good memorabilia is offered on this auction! Call your bank manger and get a bigger overdraft, bring your piggy bank, and check book (no Credit card can be accepted this evening..) and start bidding on some fantastic things! It's all about raising money for your team! Well that was no last chance either...
Gates:
I just have to bring it up! On Saturday I had no idea what we would see through the gates, on my way down I was thinking '950 would be really good, over 1000 again would be fantastic'. But as most of you know, we got 1225 people through the gate! Wow! It is a big step forward for us and makes my job so much easier, a big thanks to everyone who has spent so much time and effort to make this happen! Now let's make sure we stay in the region of this gate figure! Keep up your good work on bringing friends, grand mothers and grand-children, work pals and any body else! Big thanks to everyone on this!
Last chance! Here we go!
This week is the last chance to become an owner in the Bison! We are selling 10 more shares and that's it! We have 30 sold and I have decided to only sell 10 more, the simple reason being that from next week, I actually believe we are standing on our own feet! So if you want in, then now is the time! That was the last chance thing!
Knock Out Cup:
Well for now I will only remind everybody that this is not a season ticket game, if you want your normal seat, then buy it now! Will we see a good gate for this game? I sure hope so! First time Bison is in a semi in the EliteLleague, so make sure EVERYONE knows this and comes to this match, 2 Feb it is if you didn't already know! Buy your tickets now! More to come on this soon!
Ok, that's it for now! Lots more to say, but it is an eNews letter you sign up for, not a book, so I will have to wait with the rest!
Thanks for reading, and hope to see you all on Saturday, its gonna be an interesting game!
