Reversal of fortune as Bison stun Phoenix
30th of October 2011
Matt Colclough recorded his first career EPL shutout as the ADD recycling Basingstoke Bison bounced back from a disappointing defeat at home to Manchester Phoenix on Saturday with a 3-0 win away against the same opposition on Sunday evening. Joe Miller scored shorthanded in the first period against his old team, assisted by Daniel Volrab at 10:16. Strong netminding from Steve Fone and Colclough meant that there was no scoring in the second session and Marcel Petran made it 2-0 Bison on the powerplay just 34 seconds into the final frame, assisted by Daniel Volrab before Viktor Kubenko wrapped up the scoring unassisted with another short handed goal at 51:04. Shots on goal were 37/36 in favour of the Bison.

Bison netminder Matt Colclough was awarded the man-of-the-match award for his shutout with Tom Duggan winning the award for Phoenix.

Bison are next in action at home on Saturday 5th November as the Peterborough Phantoms visit Basingstoke for the first time this season, 6:30pm face-off. Phantoms will not be able to call upon former Bison Ondrej Lauko for the game as he doesn’t join up with the team until December.
