The ADD Recycling Basingstoke Bison made it 5 wins out of 5, and remained undefeated in 2012 after a 5-2 win on the road against the Peterborough Phantoms. It was the 2nd time in a week the Bison had visited Peterborough, after a 4-3 penalty shoot-out win on January 2nd. It was Phantoms who scored the lone goal in the first period, as Greg Randall beat Matt Colclough in the Bison net at 18:23. Bison equalized in the 2nd session at 39:05 as Sam Oakford found the net. Bison would go on to score 3 goals in the 3rd period, Ollie Bronnimann put the Herd in front at 45:02, and Steve Moria found the net just 37 seconds later. Viktor Kubenko made it 4-1 for the Bison at 48:36 before Tom Carlon pulled a goal back for Phantoms at 56:25. Viktor Kubenko sealed the game with his 2nd of the night at 57:22, leaving the score 5-2 in the Bison’s favour. Steve Moria was awarded man-of-the-match for the Bison, with Warren Tait winning the award for the Phantoms.
